Within our Sports Accident Insurance there is a player to player exclusion under the Personal Liability section of the cover which means that if you injure another player when playing within the normal rules of the sport, for example as a result of a tackle, you would not have any liability cover – i.e. you would not be covered for any claims made against you by the other player. You would be covered for your liability if, for example, you kicked a ball through a window, or it injured a member of the public.

However, the above player to player exclusion does not apply to our Sports Travel and Activity TopUp policies. Third-party liability incidents cover can be covered within the usual terms, conditions and exclusions of the policy.

Standard travel insurance policies do not always cover collision sports. Our Sports Travel Insurance is specifically designed to cover over 500 high risk activities such as bungee jumping, skateboarding, ski-acrobatics and many more.

No, unfortunately our policies can not provide cover for professionals. A professional is any person who derives more than £5,000 income per calendar year from their participation in a sport or activity. Benefits received such as free or reduced-cost accommodation, entry fees or clothing are not considered to be income.

Also any person who has a contract of employment (paid or unpaid), a sports scholarship or where their full-time occupation is undertaking the sport / activity.

Yes, our American Football Travel Insurance can generally be taken out even if you have a medical condition. We can almost always offer cover at no extra cost, but occasionally our underwriters may apply special terms if you subsequently needed to make a claim relating to your condition.

Our policies will cover anyone up to the age of 74 at the time of purchase. An applicant aged 75 or over cannot be covered.
