Damaged or Stolen Equipment

Does your current policy really give you 24/7 protection?
What and who does our policy protect?
To put it simply, our Golf Insurance policy covers three main things…
1. Your money
Should you injure someone else or damage their property whilst on a golf course, our cover will take care of the cost of defending you in court, as well as any damages payable.
You’re even protected from the costs of the traditional clubhouse drinks round (up to £250) should you be lucky enough to bag a hole-in-one during a round!
2. Your equipment
Depending on the level of cover selected, our policy protects your clubs, bags and more, up to the value of £7,500, whether the theft, loss or damage occurred on or off the course.
We also include cover for single-seater golf buggies as standard. This includes cover for damage to, or loss of, your buggy as well as Personal Liability if you were to injure a third-party whilst driving it.
Not only that, but we’ll also replace damaged clubs with brand new alternatives, regardless of their age, if they are beyond repair. We’re also pleased that we are able to say we have no single item limits when it comes to equipment claims.
Cover is valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as long as the Golf Equipment is locked away out of sight in a vehicle or a secure building– which can be your home, or at the golf club – and in the event of a claim, there is evidence of a break-in.
3. You
Personal Accident cover means that should you injure yourself or get killed whilst playing you could claim a lump sum payment up to the limit of cover chosen.
This ranges from the costs associated with dental treatment to a lump sum payout should you die or suffer the loss of sight.

What’s included in our Golf Insurance?
Golf Equipment Cover
Unique to our policy your golf equipment is covered 24 hours a day.
The cost of replacing damaged clubs, bags, shoes and other equipment can soon add up. That’s why our Golf Insurance protects your equipment 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Should you damage your clubs whilst playing, your policy will cover you up to the value of between £2000 and £7500 depending on your level of cover. We include protection for all equipment specifically purchased to be used on the golf course.
The full list of equipment covered is as follows:
Golf clubs, Bags, Trolleys, Single-seated buggies, GPS equipment and range finders
Clothing & Footwear
Accessories specifically designed and purchased for playing golf including baggage, personal possessions and trophies, cups and awards.
Hole-In-One Cover
We’ll cover the cost of the traditional round of drinks at the bar if you’re lucky enough to hit a hole-in-one.
There’s nothing sweeter than watching a perfectly-placed iron shot find the pin from your tee shot. But after the adulation of a hole-in-one, comes the realisation that tradition could leave you short of a pound or two.
Different clubs will have different interpretations, but most believe that upon achieving that fabled ace, the drinks in the clubhouse are on you.
Thankfully, our golf policy comes complete with hole-in-one cover. This means, if you bag a one-shot hole, the financial obligations are taken care of.
Our policy will cover up to £250 worth of bar bills if you achieve a hole-in-one. This includes the costs of one drink per person from the club premises, for all members of your party and everyone present at the club house when you arrive.
You will need to show proof to claim.
New for Old Equipment
If damaged golf equipment cannot be repaired or it’s been stolen, we’ll replace it with new gear.
If you need to make a Golf Insurance claim regarding damage or loss of your equipment, we will replace them on a ‘New for Old’ basis.
Regardless of the age of your clubs, bags, shoes or other golf equipment, if they are stolen or damaged beyond repair, we will provide you with a brand-new replacement to the same specification as your original item(s), or where we agree to a cash payment this will take into account any discounts available to us.
Worldwide Cover
Worldwide Cover available, making sure your policy responds wherever in the world you have an incident
If you play abroad, we can cover you worldwide for up to 120 days a year with our gold and platinum policies.
This includes all the benefits on your policy, such as equipment cover and personal accident protection, but most importantly it means you’re covered for personal liability claims, wherever you tee off.
Liability cases involving golfers whose errant drives have hit other players can amount to costly expenses. Our worldwide cover options give global liability cover should you cause a third party injury or damage.

Why do you need Golf Insurance?
Anything can happen on the golf course, from striking someone with a wayward drive, to someone else’s shot hitting you, to damaging your treasured clubs.
Striking someone with your ball could result in a hefty liability claim, as one golfer found out in 2007. The cost of defending yourself in court can run up to tens of thousands of pounds, so a comprehensive policy is vital.
Many will assume their clubs are covered under their home insurance policy however, this is only true to a certain extent. Only with a dedicated personal Golf Insurance policy are your clubs fully protected.
Our policy provides the ultimate protection for you and your clubs whether you are burning up the fairways at your local UK club or jetting off for a golfing holiday in the Algarve.
How much does Golf Insurance cost?
We offer our golf insurance at four levels of cover. Bronze and Silver for UK golfing activities and Gold & Platinum for worldwide cover.
Our Bronze UK cover starts at just £24.49 per year, while our Gold worldwide cover is just £38.800 per year.
We also offer Silver UK cover & Platinum worldwide cover (from £31.10 and £53.09 per year respectively).
Our golf policies can also be purchased on a monthly subscription basis with our Bronze level starting at £2.73 per month and Gold worldwide at £3.85 per month. ****

How to compare golf insurance?
When it comes to comparing golf insurance from SportsCover Direct with other providers, some will offer free gifts or other extras, but it’s important to remember what the biggest factors are in your policy.
What to look for when comparing golf insurance
Firstly, with any golf insurance comparison; look at the individual benefits. What are you covered for, and for how much could you claim? SportsCover Direct’s policy includes benefits such as personal liability for golfers, 24/7 equipment cover and hole in one indemnity, providing a helping hand when it comes to that post-round bar bill!
Also, compare the excesses you would have to pay. If you make a claim, most policies would require you to pay the first part of any claim. You can see compare the excesses on our golf insurance policies by clicking on the ‘i’ symbol on the quote page.
Finally, think about the price you are being asked to pay. Our policy is very competitively priced to provide you with comprehensive cover for as a little as £2.73 a month in the UK, or £3.85 for worldwide cover. Just click the ‘Get A Quote’ button to start your quote.****
